Modernization process

How we structure legacy application work from first inventory to handover

Legacy modernization fails quietly when teams skip the boring steps: knowing what runs where, who owns it, and which interfaces must not break during a strangler cutover. Our process keeps those checkpoints explicit.

1. Intake and constraints

You share environments, languages, deployment tooling, and compliance boundaries (PDPA, sector rules, change windows). We schedule a short call from our Bangkok office or remote if your engineers are distributed.

2. Technical inventory

We trace build artifacts, scheduled jobs, databases, and outward integrations. The output is a living spreadsheet or architecture sketch—not a generic maturity model score.

3. Slice selection workshop

Together we pick a vertical slice with clear success criteria: for example, exposing read-only JSON from a COBOL-backed store, or moving a reporting module off a shared VM.

4. Implementation pairing

Developers on your side remain authors of record. We pair on refactors, automated tests, and pipeline changes, documenting decisions in your wiki or ticket system.

5. Cutover rehearsal

Dry runs, rollback steps, and monitoring checks are written before production traffic moves. Advisory hours can cover war-room support on the day you choose.

6. Handover package

Runbooks, diagrams, and a backlog of follow-on slices let you continue without us—or re-engage for the next bounded phase.
